Welding Lead Hand

Job Description:• Perform MIG or stick welding of steel assemblies and operate cutting torch• Lay out, position, align and fit together parts of metal according to blueprints sketches• Ensure that parts received are of satisfactory quality and that work performed meets production standards in preparation for welding• Discontinue work process to immediately notify supervisor of any/all quality defects• Always maintain clean and orderly working area. Leave materials and equipment in proper place and order at the end of shift• Responsible for the safety, quality, and production of the assigned areas• Meet with the Production Manager routinely to discuss the progress and status of the department’s work order while keeping the Manager informed of production issues and departmental personnel issues• Record and report work order information and production times as required• Assists with the coordination, direction, and assignment of personnel and tasks within the applicable department.• Performs the supervision of the department’s production activity in the absence of the Manager• May be responsible for resolving parts/material and assigned interdepartmental production issues and problems, reconciling and processing paperwork, and performing the common tasks of other department personnel• Must comply and ensure team members comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policiesPhysical Requirements:• Ability to lift light to medium weight up to 50lbs.• May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations• May stand for prolonged periods• Must have adequate sight to read blueprints, work orders and other engineering and manufacturing documents• Must pass a breathing testQualifications:• Minimum of one years welding experience and able to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools• High school diploma or equivalent• Ability to use basic math, writing, and computer skills with Microsoft Office and Gmail• Ability to speak, write, read, and comprehend procedures in English• Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed
