Job Duties:● Utilize hand held tools such as nail guns, staplers, saws● Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons● Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers● Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding● Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine● Stamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers● Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications● Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies● Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process● Operate machinery used in the shipping process● Operate Fork Truck, Reach truck and/or Shipping supervisor● Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities● Follow all company rules and policies● Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task● Follow all safety rules and quality standards● Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency● Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 pounds using a hoist)● May be required to work an alternate shift● Must be prepared and capable of working outdoors throughout each season● Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies● Any other duties as assigned
